What setbacks can we expect?

There are several factors that affect where we can ultimately site turbines, including roads and rails, streams and ditches, houses, communication towers, non-participating property lines, and additional infrastructure.

Many of the setbacks that we use are governed by the county or state. They are created to ensure the safety of those who live or work near a wind farm. In situations where there are no setbacks required by the county or state, we rely on industry best practices and prioritize community safety.

Why does the development phase take so long? Can construction begin sooner?

Before we can begin construction, we need to make sure that the project is responsibly sited and properly permitted, the layout and construction design is optimized, and contractor selections are made. Once a property owner signs a lease, the landowner will still be paid per acre even when construction has not begun.

What activities are not allowed on my property during construction?

During construction, you will mostly be able to go about life as normal. The lease will detail any activities that are restricted and we will be sure to review these with you in advance.

We will keep you informed on project news and any updates that might relate to your property, business, or day-to-day activities. Our construction teams will also coordinate with property owners throughout the installation of the project.

What composite materials will you be using for the roads?

Each site and location may require different composite materials for roads due to the climate, terrain, and environment. During the development process, we will survey the land and select a specific composite material that is best suited for the area.
